Specializing in all things pertaining to guitar tone, expert technician Philip Poteat brings to BadAxe Boutique over 25 years experience in servicing, repairing, and modifying acoustic and electric instruments, instrument amplifiers, effect pedals, and pro audio electronics. Philip is also a guitar player himself with over 30 years playing, performing and recording experience and as a player he understands the importance in keeping your instrument, amplifier, and gear playing, functioning and sounding there best.

Whether it’s a set up on your favorite guitar, repairs on your classic vintage amp or modifications to your effect pedal, you can be confident that your instrument and gear is in the hands of a qualified professional who over the years has established a reputation as a knowledgeable, honest, and skilled technician. Philip hopes to be your go to source for all of your service and tone shaping needs, and shares BadAxe Boutiques commitment to provided discerning players with great guitar tone.

Shop Labor Rate – $90.00 per hour, 1/2 hour minimum. Does not apply to flat rate repairs.

Deposit / Bench Fee – A deposit of $45.00 is required at time of drop off on all non-warranty amplifier, effect processor, pro audio, and speaker repairs. Deposit will be credited to any diagnostic fees and final repair costs.

Shop Charge – A shop/materials fee of $8.00 will be added to all repair invoices to cover costs of solder, chemicals, lubricants, and miscellaneous materials.


Proof Of Purchase – A valid proof of purchase is required at time of drop off for all warranty repairs.

Turnaround Time – All repairs are handled on a first-in first-out basis. Parts availability may impact turnaround time.

phil.jpgRush Service – Rush service is available for an additional fee of $45.00. Turnaround time on rush repairs is subject to parts availability, severity of repair work, and shipping schedules.

Shop Warranty – All repairs are covered for a period of 30 days after date of pickup. Shop warranty only covers specific repairs performed at Tone Technologies. Unrelated problems are not covered.

Storage Fee – Repairs not picked up within 15 days of being notified of completion will be charged and additional $2.00 per day.

Abandoned Repairs – Repairs not picked up within 30 days of being notified of completion will be considered abandoned and will be discarded, salvaged for parts, or sold at our discretion.
